Bryans Take Ouray, Day Four

We scheduled a guided jeep tour for today. Michael, our tour guide, picked us up from our hotel at 9:00. He modified a flatbed truck by adding a cage and eight seats.  The sides and top were open so we were able to see everything really well.

Michael took us on three trails and talked about the waterfalls, land formations, abandoned mines, and other landmarks in the town.

This is the Ouray courthouse.  Some of the scenes in John Wayne's version of True Grit were filmed there.

The girls were so excited about seeing snow.

The ride rocked Harper to sleep.

We had a snowball fight.

And built a snowman.

On the way back to town, we saw the brightest rainbow.

We got back from the tour around 1:00, ate pizza, and took naps.

Mama and I did some laundry while the girls napped, and we found this hanging basket that looked like a heart.

We ate delicious Italian food at a place called Bon Ton.

Tomorrow we're taking a tour of a local mine, and hopefully the weather will hold out and the hot springs will be open so we can swim. The girls have been asking to go every day!
